Because time itself is like a spiral, something special happens on your birthday each year: The same energy that God invested in you at birth is present once again.
~Menachem Mendel Schneerson Toward a Meaningful Life: The Wisdom of the Rebbe, 1995
For the past six years, November 18th and 19th have been trying dates on the calendar. The 18th is my birthday and the 19th was Tom's. This year, I vowed I would approach the day differently than in the past. Unfortunately, the tears still showed up on the doorstep as the day grew closer. I however, pushed them aside and set up a plan for myself. Instead of waiting on what my children or friends might do for me or with me on the day, I went into action.
I planned:
A shopping date alone
A massage
Workout time at the gym
tub soakings with instructions to children to leave mom in peace for an hour!
A lunch date with a friend to our favorite Thai place
Coffee and conversation (and they brought cheese cake) with friends and my kids
It was a wonderful birthday weekend! Monday came with Tom's birthday and thoughts of our life together. I came home and was surprised by an anonymous delivery of beautiful yellow roses with a card that only read "Happy Birthdays, We Love You".

I just made the connection that you are the one that emailed me (magazine giveaway) with the correct date! I didn't know that was you?!
Anyway, Happy Birthday Lisa!! :)
