No I didn't!

Can you say itchy? I sure can. That is the culprit growing from the ground in my flower bed...... Let me start at the beginning...
I took a long look at the side of my house and decided it was time to get busy and weed. I began at the front of the house and worked my way steadily toward the back. I started off using my weeding tool... kind of like a hoe but with the middle missing...great for getting the weeds whacked off at the base. I'd hoe, then scoop up the weeds and toss them onto the driveway. Later, the kids would come with the wheelbarrow and dispose of the weeds onto the compost pile. After I made it up to the back porch, I took a little break and then the fun resumed. I found myself enjoying this chore. Pulling weeds, shaking the dirt off the roots...I'd abandoned my weeding tool. I then made it to an area I'd neglected for some time. This is where I had decided that weeding isn't as much fun as I made it out to be! What did I find? Poison Ivy...yep you read that right! Now for anyone that does not know me, I am one of those people that only needs be in the vicinity of this plant and three days later I'm covered. I actually grabbed hold of what I thought was an ordinary vine and it wasn't until I actually looked at what was in my hand that I knew what a mistake this weeding was! I did wash my hands with rubbing alcohol in cold water and thought I was safe... Fast forward 3 days later and I wake in the middle of the night scratching the heck out of my forearm. Today... I'm covered. I have it across my palm where I held it, on both arms, legs, stomach and face...yep I'm itchy! In my quest for any new information out there about clearing this up fast (nothing out there I don't already know) I came across this website http://www.poison-ivy.org/ check out his 'hall of fame rashes' ... I don't feel so bad after seeing some of those!
